Up the beautiful cottonwood canyon we went with my family! It was this great campground at the very, very top of the canyon.
We stayed two nights up there, and on the first night, it rained the entire night and the whole next morning. This is my cute nephew Coen in his poncho; he thought it was a cape though and called himself Harry Potter. If you called him Coen, he'd say "no, I'm Harry Potter!" Cute.
It was super hard to start a fire in the morning cause I swear, every time we got it going, it would rain again! But Amy and I made a really cool shelter for wood and stuff--you can see it in the background--the little plastic tied to the trees--genious! What would the world do without constructive women?
On the next day, around when the rain cleared up, Sam and my Chris showed up. It was fun to chill with them too!
We cooked on a dutch oven the whole time we were there and it was soo yummy! We did overcook one meal, but we're getting better at the dutch oven thing.

There were cool trees and rocks, and usually a plethora of wildflowers-but we were there a little late in the season.
What a nice uncle Jobo. He carried Suren all the way. (Sam did on the other way. Our kid on the way will have great uncles!)

Tempting because there was no swimming allowed! Also, we brought a bunch of fishing gear but discovered there are no fishes in this little lake. It was so worth the beautiful hike and scenery though. The lake was so clear and awesome.
Sam found a cool bouldering rock right by the lake. You can see the lake in the background here. 
Suren is a little climber! He is actually really good. There weren't a lot of holds on this boulder so we all helped him up. He was so excited to reach the top!

That night we had dutch oven peach cobbler YUM! and marshmallows. We were all laughing so hard here cause Sam's marshmallow looked just like butt cheeks. We called it a buttmallow. What a fun camping trip!
